Breckenridge: First Half
This was my second time visiting Breckenridge and had a great time with friends last year skiing some runs and eating some delicious food (still thinking about that pizza from Tin Plate). Going solo, I wasn’t sure what to expect and was a little anxious not having a ski buddy if things went sideways on the mountain.
I don’t usually look up a ton of details on AirBnBs other than general location. This place didn’t disappoint! It was in a great spot and was an easy walk to the gondola in the morning and could ski almost completely to the front door at the end of the day. I stayed at Peter’s Place and it was a perfect spot for 1-2 people.
The snow sculpting competition was going on right next door and was able to see the teams’ progress each night.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with the lifts in late January and was so excited to see little to no lift lines. Two tips:
If you can, go during the week: I started my stay on a Sunday and driving west on I-70 and seeing everyone going back into Denver was wild.
Take all the layers: while one day was bluebird and 22, the next was 0 degrees and overcast and my whole body still felt like a popsicle at the end of the day.
